My country style chicken

Our dinner last night, country style chicken with steamed mixed veggies. My family loves it especially my husband. With McCormick Bag 'n Season, it was easy to prepare and cook.

McCormick® Bag 'n Season® Country Style Chicken is the easy way to make chicken that is tender, savory and saucy.  Bag 'n Season® Country Style Chicken contains a blend of herbs and spices, as well as a cooking bag to eliminate messy cleanup.  With Bag 'n Season®, preparation and cleanup are a snap!

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 1 hour
Stand Time: 5 minutes

You Will Need

1 package McCormick® Bag 'n Season® Country Style Chicken
2 1/2 pounds chicken parts
1/3 cup flour
2 cups water

PREHEAT oven to 350°F.  Arrange opened Cooking Bag in 13x9-inch baking pan or dish.  Place chicken in single layer in Bag.

STIR Seasoning Mix, flour and water with whisk until smooth. Pour over chicken. Close Bag loosely with nylon tie. Cut 4 small holes in top of Bag to allow steam to escape.

BAKE in lower half of oven 1 hour.  Remove from oven. Let stand 5 minutes.  Cut open Bag.  Stir sauce and serve with chicken.

IMPORTANT:  Allow 8 inches for Bag to expand while cooking.  Cooking Bag should not touch oven walls or racks.

Makes 6 servings

Jacket from thrift shop

I love thrift shopping and yes I'm a proud thrift shopper. Once in a while I get the kids/my  clothes at one of the great thrift shops here in Chicago. What I like about buying at this kind of store is that I can find some good stuff that most people don't have. Unlike when you buy, for example at Target, you'll probably randomly encounter some people wearing the same clothes you have. I hate that. Also, I like the fact that I can get those designer's bags and clothes at the cheapest price.   You just have to be very careful and be very picky. The only thing I hate about it is the dusty place. It makes me sneeze all the time. Anyways, Got this jacket for like $6 or $8. Cant exactly remember the price, sorry. Anyways, the fabric is still good. So lucky my friend spotted it and handed it over to me ^_^x

Do we need a higher education to be successful?

The trend nowadays is attaining higher education so that you will be able to get an edge over other job applicants and get a higher job. Some even just go for an online mba at an online university such as this but I wonder, will it really give you an edge? I mean look at Steve Jobs who didn’t even graduate college but he is heading one of the most successful and influential businesses of all time. I believe that it is a matter of determination, creativity and luck. You do need an education though, learning is what’s important but sometimes life learning is more valuable. Experience is the best teacher. Getting an MBA is also good though when you’re looking for a job that requires such and of course if your basis is learning.

bow tie on babies

Men who wear bow ties for me look so cute and especially when you’re talking about baby boys wearing formal wear! There is something about formal wear that really makes you want to treat a person seriously so no wonder people wear formal on events that they want “to be taken seriously”. When babies wear formal wear, there’s an effect that makes them look cuter because babies look like the younger version of their dads and it would seem so cute that they are imitating him. I wish I had a baby boy so I can see the effect more clearly.

Because of the worries a 21st century mom has to take, no wonder we want to use anti wrinkle crème already because of the lines on top of our foreheads. There are so many things to worry about! First thing I wake up, we moms have to decide on what food to cook, wake up our kiddies, see our husbands off to work, clean the house, do the laundry and even sometimes go to work for moms who have jobs. Who are we to blame if we sometimes have to look for comfort in spas too?

What do you like about men with huge muscles?

In surveys for women regarding physical attraction, you’d definitely find questions such as “Do you find taller men more attractive? Broader shoulders? Maybe some of them might be reading muscle milk reviews and are getting bigger just to show off their muscles. What is the point of this all? It’s to attract women and we can’t deny that women find guys who have muscles appealing and impressive. But of course, over of anything isn’t good and such as looking like an alien of a human being already, wouldn’t look good either. Even without the muscles, a guy can still attract girls. As for me, I don't like man with huge muscles like what you see in body lifting shows... ewww! lolz

Why do you think we need depression treatments?

After everything mankind has gone through to develop technology to cope with our weaknesses and to improve our lives, you would have thought that the world would be some utopia but of course this will only happen if humans wouldn’t be humans anymore. Despite our strive for perfection, we seem to be less happy through the years because we are also making our life so complicated. Why do you think we need depression treatments and teenagers are now even contemplating suicide? We must have a balance of everything and man should understand that he cannot live alone. Sometimes going far away from technology and just being free is the answer.

night time cravings

Lately, I've been eating a lot. I don't know, but I feel like eating something especially at night when I'm browsing online. Of course, it's not good for anyone to do that even more if you have nothing to do after eating but go to bed. I don't know how to stop my cravings at night maybe I'll have to take some kind of appetite suppressant before this becomes a problem. Since I'm new to suppressants, I'll be looking for natural appetite suppressants for now and see how it works.

A lot of people are conscious about their weight. Nowadays, not just women watch their weight but also a lot of men do. To prevent having unwanted weight people exercise, watch what they eat, take diet pills or all of the above. This song gives me chills whenever my daughter sings it. It has simple lyrics but have a deep meaning to it. My daughter said she wants to dedicate this song to her lola (Granma) in the Philippines.

Always put light in your life

I want my life to light up as if it was lighted up by a couple of beautiful Murray Feiss lighting. I imagine my life to always be full of wonder and happiness and I have almost achieved that! I have such a loving family with a wonderful husband and lively 2 young girls and I'm on my way to my dream goal! You need not to have a lot of riches, but if you have the right people with you and you doing what you love most, you may reach this beautiful lighted world soon.

thought about friendship

Friends are certified diamonds. Remember that old catchphrase that was popularized by Marilyn Monroe that diamonds are a girl's best friend? I actually think the phrase needs a little bit editing because it should have been, best friends are the best diamonds a girl could ever have. There is the saying that friendship lasts forever but I don't think that this applies to all friendships. Only a few people whom you really trust would really stand beside you through thick and thin and family is part of that. These best friends are the people who accept you truly for who you are and these are the people you can definitely rely on.

Kids new haircut

 

  

 

The kids had haircut last Monday. I tried to cut their hair by myself but I can't make it look nice. It look awful so I let the expert do it for me instead. Yuna got a layered long style and Freya got a Bob cut style. I'm quite satisfied for 30 bucks including the tip cos they look more prettier. (^o^)
